We use design to find
new ways of navigating complex challenges

We use information design, visual design, and interaction design to reveal patterns, make connections, and build tools that create powerful change.

We embrace the richness of complex situations, exploring them deeply to uncover insights that drive lasting impact.

Our approach

  • Holistic: We think deeply about context: the social, cultural and ecological settings we work in and the forces that shape them. We pay attention to these interconnected systems, narratives and values.

  • Relational: Our approach to design is grounded in connections and community. We pay attention to different perspectives, nurture relationships and create inclusive spaces for dialogue and participation.

  • Collective: We believe design is a collective act, enriched by diverse perspectives, experiences, and skills. We work with people with lived experience and other ways of knowing as peers in the design process.

  • Transformative: We see design as a catalyst for reimagining the world. We challenge conventions, uncover assumptions and find the roots of complex challenges to build transformative tools for change.

What set Parallel Lines apart was their dedication to ensuring that communities’ insights and needs drove the purpose, concept and direction of the project. Their ability to take abstract, research-heavy concepts and transform them into compelling, intuitive, and engaging designs was truly remarkable.

Parallel Lines brought a unique type of thinking to our project. They took time to deeply understand our values, our services and our customers. This care was demonstrated in a final product that helps us reframe conversations about disability support to make a powerful difference in our customers’ lives.
